Description
Vintage Nike Cortez 1977 U.S. 10 1/2 White Leather Red Swoosh w/Blue Accents RARE! NEAR MINTUp for auction is an almost NEAR MINT pair of 1977 Nike Cortez sneakers. These are made from white leather with an awesome red swoosh and blue accents. These sneakers are a male size 10 1/2 and were manufactured in the U.S.A. in 1977. The code no. on the inside is 202 10 10 1/2 779215.I purchased these sneakers recently from a thrift store near Seattle. They look like they may have been worn once or twice, maybe, but that’s it. They are basically in NEAR MINT condition. Other than a few light scuffs I really can’t detect any wear. Sadly, the silly store clerk has written with what appears to be a Sharpie type black felt pen on the inside of the right sneaker, “4.99” and “10 1/2”. On the inside tag it is marked, “Made In USA”. Sorry, but these came without the box. An amazing pair of really hard to find sneakers in this condition. The red, white and blue from ’77 is just awesome!!!Buyer pays shipping and handling. Good luck and always have fun!On Aug-25-08 at 15:18:46 PDT, seller added the following information:After doing further research with the Nike #'s inside of the shoe from the below question, I am pretty sure that these must be from 1977. Several pairs that I have found from 1979 do not match at all and are in no way the same. Also, all shoes before 1985 seem to have 6 numbers and 2 letters following as these do.  And as far as I know, 1977 was the last year for Nike's to be made in the U.S.A. with only a few exceptions. Meaning no 1979 Nike Corez's were ever made in the U.S. in 1979, I hope this clarifies the previous question below...
