Up for auction is a vintage baby's outfit. Made of soft pale blue cotton this one-piece outfit is really stunning! Short sleeves with snap closures on the back and bottom for ease of diaper changing and a belt that can be worn or not. This vintage outfit dates back to the 1930s early 1940s. Hand smocking of yellow and white with soft brown trees with embroidered cross stitch collar and sleeves. This outfit is not labeled or sized, but appears to be 6 month to 9 month. Exact sizing given below to ensure fit, because clothing items are not returnable due to size issues, so please double check on your child.   Measurements: Across shoulders: 10" Across armpits: 13" Across waist:15" when worn without the belt and 11" across when worn with belt. Top of shoulder to bottom: 18"   100% cotton fabric with hand smocking in a red green colored thread with tree design. (Great Christmas or Holiday outfit). The size appears to be for babies 6 months through 9 months, this is a guess which is why the measurements are given).   This oufit is a one-of-a-kind for it was home made back in the late 30s or early 40s. Part of my vintage linen collection, this item is free from damage. Ask questions if needed, I am not an expert.   Condition: No stains, no damage, no wear spots. When held to light one can see approximately 2 tiny, tiny spots. The fabric is old and has no holes and no wear spots. The snaps on the back are 3 and all are in place, the bottom has 3 snaps to change diaper and the elastic on the legs still stretch and have lots of give.   Great vintage baby outfit for vintage large baby doll or for new born babies.
