WE SUGGEST PAYPAL FOR ANY OF YOUR PURCHASES.     For auction is this beautiful vintage Bottega Veneta suitcase bought in Italy around 1986. It is part of a set as shown in the photo below. This exact size is no longer made by Bottega Veneta, nor do they make anything similar in regards to the leather finish. This suitcase was made prior to Gucci Group's purchase of Bottega Veneta.   I can assure you that it is far more lovely in person than in the photos.   It is exquisitely made by hand in a lovely natural vachetta (cow hide). The vachetta shows natural yellowing in certain areas, it is a natural effect of the undyed leather and is part of its inherent allure. The trunk is trimmed in a bordeaux leather and is accented with gold brass cornering and finishes.   It opens by two dial locks, each opens independently of the other, with a middle push clasp, and has a matching bordeaux leather handle with attached address tag.   It's a generously oversized trunk, measuring  31L x 20.5W x 9.5H and opens to reveal a handsome beige lined interior. Its ingenuity lays in its original purpose, a trunk for train or maritime travel and features several attached hangers (perfect for slacks and sport coats), which can be fastened by two belts to prevent the clothing from shifting.    Upon arrival at one's destination, the hangers are directly hung in a closet/armoire without ever needing to transfer the garment to another hanger. Upon departure the hanger with the garment is then transferred to the trunk.     This vintage suitcase exudes an aura of travel that we no longer see today. It has an inherent luxurious "feel" of travel and of a leisurely holiday. It's a great collector's piece as well as a gorgeous decoration piece, especially when displayed with it's sister suitcases.   It has only been used once, for the return trip from Italy and still has its original Alitalia "Fragile" sticker. It has been stored since its one and only journey. It does have some black marks and perhaps some slight scuffs from the journey. The marks can be removed with the proper leather treatments. Apart from this, the trunk is in excellent condition.   This auction is for the large suitcase shown in the photo below.
