Striking period print in black, gray, brown and tan, on a high quality sturdy cotton. The bodice is lined with a glazed dark gray cotton. Double front darts and front hook closure. Tan pure cotton collar is hand embroidered in a pretty shade of brown. The collar is handsewn to the piped neckline. Vintage cotton lace accentuates the drop-shoulder seams of the bodice and the exaggerated two-piece coat sleeves. Shot silk covered buttons are set at the ends of the lace. The sleeves are fully lined. The skirt has been cartridge pleated and handsewn to the bodice waist. Wide glazed cotton facing at the hem is entirely handsewn for greater authenticity.*This dress was used for photography purposes in many notable locations on the Gettysburg National Military Park and Battlefield, such as Devil's Den, Pitzer's Woods, Spangler's Spring, etc. The dress may still show traces of dust on the hem from these locations. However, the dress is new, has never been worn and is in otherwise excellent condition*Measurements are approximately: Bust 38, Waist 32~33, Length of skirt 44, Circumference of skirt 215 inches. *Shown over a 125 inch hoop skirt (not included) and a cotton petticoat (sold separately)*Brooch not included.
