Great details of a traditional Navajo style concho belt. Hand stamped and die struck with bump outs and Southwest designs. Ten, 3" by 2-1/2" concho's plus the buckle of the same size and design. This concho belt will never tarnish because it is made of nickel silver for an expensive Santa Fe look. Navajo made, the leather is 1" wide and can be cut to fit. Let us size this one for you, as low as 24" waists and up. This striking belt is meant to be worn and enjoyed by both men and women. A true wearable work of art. Concha belts are one of the most striking articles of Indian Jewelry. The medallions or plates of silver vary in number according to size. The older type had holes in the center, separated by a bar, through which was passed the strap forming the belt. The first belts were made only of concha's, with leather thongs used for fastening. Later a silver harness buckle was used, then slides of soft copper were used to attach and slide the concha's on belts and finally elaborate buckles replaced the leather thongs and simple buckles.
