By the way, some Sutlers sell unlined Confederate shell jackets. These are NOT period correct, as all surviving Confederate shell jackets are in fact lined, and there is no evidence that unlined shell jackets were issued by the Confederacy to it’s troops. All of the Confederate shell jackets sold by Butternuts and Bluecoats are fully lined with cotton cloth and have interior pockets, just like the originals.
