It's an impressive work of hand made Native American Turquoise and Silver jewelry. This fantastic concho belt features a buckle, eight conchos, and nine butterflies masterfully hand cut from .925 Sterling Silver. They all feature traditional cluster designs made from hand cut cabochons of genuine Turquoise surrounded by hand twisted Sterling Silver wire and hand made Sterling drops. The cool aqua greens and earth tone hues of the Turquoise come alive next to the white shine of Sterling Silver. Each stone has a unique eye-catching natural matrix that makes it one of a kind. The buckle is 3" wide by 2-3/4" tall and each of the eight conchos are 2-1/2" in diameter. The butterflies are 1" wide by 2-1/2" long. The black leather belt can be cut to fit, please put your size in the 'comment box' as you check out. Stamped Sterling and signed by the Navajo jeweler Julia Williams. Please measure your waist and allow us to know your exact waist size in the 'comment box' as you check out so we can make sure that this concho belt is perfect for you. For concho belts that come with leather, if you do not give us your size specifications the leather belt will come to you unpunched. There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and believe that it helps overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.
