This auction is for a beautiful ladies two-piece Civil War Reproduction walking outfit. The waistcoat-styled jacket is of rich burgundy wine-colored sueded velveteen with attached white front panel in heavy white cotton chintz.  It is lightly boned, princess styled with bell sleeves and fastens in the front with hook-and-eye closure.  The false-front (so popular in the 1860's) features black jet buttons. The very full skirt (132" around) gathers with tiny cartridge pleats into a waistband which fastens with hook-and eye closure.  It is of an authentic period printed cotton in colors of wine, white and light turquoise.  It is shown over a 6-row crinoline and petticoat (not included).
