LOT OF 5 VINTAGE WOMENS GOWNS PARTY DRESSES 1940s 50s Start Price USD 19.99 Current Price USD 37.87 Time Left - Bid Count 7 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, October 11, 2008 End Time Saturday, October 18, 2008 Location Marcellus, New York See more about 'LOT OF 5 VINTAGE WOMENS GOWNS PARTY DRESSES 1940s 50s' Description WOMENS VINTAGE GOWNS FROM 1940-1950sWe are back on eBay again after our summer of shows.  We have been buying steadily, and are excited to be back online for the fall and winter and to offer many, many great groups of vintage to our friends here!  As usual we are planning to use the next few weeks or more to sell many great items in groups to make room for our newest inventory.  Please keep an eye out for many lots to come containing womens clothing from the 20s through the 70s with an emphasis on dresses, dresses, and more dresses......  As always, feel free to email any questions, and if you are in need of something that you do not see, let us know!!!  We probably have it!!!In this auction we are listing a group of womens gowns from the 1940s through the early 1950s.  Many or all of these items have issues due to age and wear, but can either be repaired or are fantastic simply for design and fabric.  All but one can be wearable, some with work.  There are five items in total, and I will list each in the order of the pictures.    1:  Long rose chiffon over acetate gown with thin spaghetti straps, ruched front and side bodice, 'v' at the back waist, and side metal zipper.  Slight soiling under the arms, a few pinprick (and just slightly larger) holes here and there, and a double line of tiny holes at the back waist where an appliqued large bow (I presume) has been removed.  Some all over light soiling and marks here and there and one 9" area at the bottom hem has a jagged tear across- just hem back up.  Medium.  2:  Dusty blue glimmery silk taffeta circle with matching scarf and belt and back neck ties and metal zipper.  Unlined with side pockets.  A small popped seam and soiling under the arms.  Some light drip marks that need to be soaked out.  Vintage size 13.    3:  Dusty rose and navy striped shimmery silk taffeta wiggle with pullover styling.  Pictured with black nylon belt- included, but not original.  Soiling under the arms, and a few light drip marks.  Medium.     4:  Dusty pink netting- like an open weave, stiffened organdy- over acetate long gown with sheer yoke, back metal zipper, and all over ruffles.  Alfred Angelo Original.  Quite dusty, stains and marks sprinkled about (many age spots), one small slit in the skirt, and the hem has been taken up by hand.  This piece needs a good cleaning and probably a lot of soaking to freshen- but sturdy!  Small to medium.     5:  Light lavender gown of netting over acetate with strapless bodice and side metal zipper.  This piece has had a large section of the acetate under skirt cut out.  There are speckled sequins along the bodice and skirt, but some are missing.  There are scattered stains, and a popped waist seam as well.  This piece could be cleaned and then disassembled for a costume or used for parts as well.  Small to medium as is.
