Description KING & I Eastern Styled Beaded Brocade Hand Made Shoes! At Auction is a Vintage, Hand Crafted, Beaded, Pearled and Brocaded Pair of Eastern Shoes. They appear to be slightly used though I can find no wear on the soles or inside. I have had these shoes for about 20 years, I do not remember where I found them. Probably an antique mall in a little town in Michigan. I am sure that I bought them, thinking I could use them in a production of "The King & I" which I had costumed for a theatre group. I did not use them as they did not fit the King or his minions. The base vamps and soles are leather, and the brocade, beads and pearls overlay has been assembled and stitched together to form the shoe. The tiny beads are Orange (vermillion), Aqua, Yellow  and Irridescent. The Gold filigree interlocking stitch forms the all-over flower design for the colorful beads. The pearls are Ivory. The Heels and the Toes have an extra piece of leather stitched on to protect those ares. I think that these shoes would fit a Woman - 7 1/2 - 8; a Man - 6 1/2 - 7. If you like Oriental themes, then these shoes would be a great start for a masquarade costume.
