I’ve looked net-wide and found nothing to compare it to, but I’ve seen less for more… This mantilla was designed for the bride who desires a lot more than a simple veil. For me, it’s a labor of love, as I passionately enjoy what I do. I consider this veil to be the most elaborate one I’ve ever designed. It’s not just straight-sewn, every little flower and cord has been meticulously sewn for years of preservation, as the raised cording of Alencon lace tends to separate from its backing over the years. ALL those little cords have been sewn intact, not only is this mantilla beautiful, but it’s durable. The color is a medium ivory. Length is 128”, width at the bottom edge is 104”, and due to its custom cut, width at the top edge is 82”. Stunning beaded Alencon lace still has its “whiskers” intact and is a beautiful French import, soft and cottony. At the center back of the train the lace is 19 ½” wide, then graduates to 14 ½”, graduates again to 8”, and changes pattern to a 7 ½” lace on the top third of the mantilla. At the top on each side is a Victorian medallion/applique measuring 10 ½” in length and 8” wide. The headpiece is also comprised of these appliques. The lace design is of roses, leaves, and scrolls. The headpiece is heavily beaded with sequins, pearls, twisted bugle beads, straight bugles, Swarovski bicones, and pearl cascades (all a la iridescent), LOTS of hand sewing. The mantilla attaches securely with a nickel finish round tooth wire comb. All around the bottom of the train are a dozen 12 mm Swarovski octagon crystals. Quite large, but you can see them sparkle from a distance (since they are on the floor). They are “danglers,” attached with beaded loops of tiny delica beads and bicone crystals. Custom Blusher/Reception Veil I thought this veil needed more than just a plain blusher. The blusher is a 2-tier veil, 30/38, and 72" in width. It's cut into a cascade or waterfall style (so there are no open areas at the sides), and has several matching beaded lace appliques on the back half. The top (where it attaches to the other veil) is beaded with bicone crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, and "pillow" crystals. These are all hand sewn. Inside of the top edge, there are 3 loops to attach a comb, enabling you to wear this veil alone or with a tiara at your reception if desired. It also attaches to the cathedral veil with clear nylon snaps to wear it blusher style during your ceremony.
