The original lacquer pen still works and is included in the pen loop. I purchased this planner and found it to be too nice for what I would be using it for and need to let it go! The planner has a place for four credit cards, and then a large flap to place papers (this is pictured). There are two slits that are length wise on opposite sides of the planner that fit your spiral calendar and address book that are included. There is also a slit in the back of the planner that will fit a note pad that can be purchased from coach or will fit store bought note pads. This is a very stylish planner that I know someone will enjoy. There are no rips, tears, or scratches and all the stitching is clean and intact. There is a tiny scuff on the back of the planner that I believe you could remove with coach leather conditioning lotion and is hardly noticeable.
