Description
redbridge Store Estate fresh pair of fine Pre civil war Antique leather wedding shoes manufactured in Baltimore around 1840. These identical shoes (doesn't seem to be a left and right foot) are stamped on the sole of one of the shoes. Marked "L. Perry & Co. MNFR. Baltimore." These kid leather shoes still retain the original silk ribbons and fine string to fasten the shoes to the wearer. They measure 9 inches long and roughly 2 1/4 inches wide. There are definite condition issues with these shoes but for their age they are not too bad. These issues include some staining at the toes, some distress at the back seams and the interior of one shoe has small holes from a one time insect attack. The shoes have the original leather heels and soles and a pencil written note that says these wedding slippers were worn by Kate Penelope Bankatt-Lynch, Columbia South Carolina. We are glad to answer any e-mails regarding these slippers.
