This is not your ordinary Bill Blass! It is an early label dating to the early 1970s when the designer first started his own line of glamorous gowns like this one. Starting with a fully boned strapless bodice, it has ultra tight shirring on each side of the bustline creating a super curvy bustline and form fitting at the torso. The skirting is an amazing layering of four full gathered tiers, the lowest of which is extra long and a full circle! The dress comes with an extra long ruffle edge matching wrap stole done in the same rich fabric and drapes over the shoulders and falls fully over the dress adding an extra special elegant touch. Incredibly designed, the construction is simply amazing right down to the inside hook and eyes backing the hidden zip back, a true designer dress from an American Fashion Icon ~ Bill Blass! The taffeta is just incredible, ultra fine and I am fairly certain it is all silk. The fabric really holds it's shape perfectly and allows for the gathered tiers to fall perfectly placed without drooping. Not to mention the awesome color, done in the richest shade of jewel blue with a slight iridescent glow.
