Stradovarius Handmade Eyeglass Frames. Made of same wood as Stradovarius Violin. They are signed by Stradovarious on left inside arm just left to the gold flex hinge.  On the right side it is signed  SkyWood Italy.  I bought these about 30 years ago for $500. I had my prescription lenses made for them, wore them on special occasions maybe a few times and put them into an eyeglass case and have stored them ever since.  These are in MINT condition. Not a mark on them. Solid Gold flex hinges.  Any lenses can be put into them but make sure you take them to an expert that will guarantee that when installing lenses they will not break frames.  I have searched high and low on the internet to try and find any info on these. I did get an email back from someone in the vintage eyeglass business that said this. Andy:You have a pair of hand made eyeglasses.  The style looks to be in the mid 1970's.  Germany, Italy, and to a lesser extent France have small size businesses that specialize in making items of this nature.I am not surprised that you paid $500.  Recently at an eyeglass convention in New York we had a chance to buy custom made frames for $1,500 each.Very few of these frames are made.  The market is small and limited to upscale optical shops.  I do not buy expensive frames like this unless they are part of a close-out or a warehouse lot.If you want to sell these frames for more money than you paid you should search for buyers in the upscale shops of New York, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco and similar places.In an upscale optical shop these frames should bring $2,000 or more.Ed Welch www.eyeglasseswarehouse.com   Going to start bidding out at $1500.  Will come in eyeglass case I have saved them in.
