Description
Elizabethan Court Gown includes Champagne & Copper Embellished Bodice with Epaulets, Matching Overskirt, Underskirt and ChemiseReady to Ship!Perfect for Renaissance or Elizabethan Weddings, elegant Masquerade Balls or making a spectacular entrance at the gates of the Faire... The Bodiceis made with a lovely champagne damask. The attached epaulets/shoulder caps are made from the same fabric. Dyed-to-match venise lace adorn the bodice in a figure-flattering effect. (The lace is darker than it appears in the photos due to a slight reflective sheen.)This back-lacing bodice is designed to achieve the period-correct conical figure by pressing the chest and stomach flat and squeezing the bosom up above the neckline. (Unfortunately, my dress form can’t “squish”, but hopefully you get the idea!). Rich champagne cording laces up the back through 30 silver grommets. A matching modesty panel is also included to allow for multiple sizes and also so the cording can be loosened without the chemise showing between the grommets. The cording ends are crimped with aiglets for easy threading and a finished appearance. This sturdy Bodice has three pieces of 1/2" carbon steel boning (plastic coated with rounded ends) in the front section, four pieces of poly boning in the side seams, poly boning in the back seams to reinforce the grommets, heavy interfacing for structure and support and is lined with heavy weight upholstery fabric. YOUR bust and waist measurements should be at least the same as the Bodice and can be up to3 inches LARGER. The tighter it's laced, the more "push up and together" effect you'll get. Bodice Bust 36" (with modesty panel, will fit busts 36"-43")Bodice Waist 30" (with modesty panel, will fit waists 30"-34")The Overskirt is made with the same damask fabric as the bodice and is embellished with the venise lace along the opening of the split front. The fabric has been gathered and sewn to a sturdy same-fabric waistband. Heavy hook and eye closures will be attached to the waistband at the waist measurement you specify (30"-34"). Skirt circumference closed is approximately 120 inches. Waist to serged hem is 48"... ready for final hemming by your tailor. (Shown with a five-ring hoop slip and bum roll which are not included.)The UnderskirtIs made with a front panel of gorgeous embroidered faux silk crinkled taffeta. The lovely floral vine design includes copper colored chenille flowers which match the dyed venise lace in the other garments. The remainder of the underskirt is made with lightweight, comfortable muslin. It has a drawstring waist for the perfect fit. Circumference is approximately 150 inches. Waist to serged hem is 48"...ready for final hemming by your tailor. The Blouse-Length ChemiseIs made with more of the embroidered faux silk taffeta. It has an adjustable drawstring neckline and elastic at the ruffles (a small section of elastic is exposed on the inside for easy adjustment). ******************************************************************************* (Even though this ensemble is listed as a "costume", it is far superior to "costume-quality" garments...believe me, there is a difference. My high-quality historical clothing will last for many years of enjoyment.) ******************************************************************************* Thank you for looking!!! On all items, seams are serged and hems are rolled for a professional finish (no fraying) and come from a smoke-free home. I accept Paypal, money orders, cashiers checks and personal checks. Email Me © My Original DesignsBecause my designs are not “intrinsically utilitarian”, they are copyright protected. This means that infringement on these designs can and will result in litigation. It's much more fun (and potentially much less costly) creating your own designs...really.© My Original VerbiageImitation may be the highest form of flattery but it can also be quite tiresome. Copying my text is not only tacky and unethical, but it is an act of plagiarism and a violation of eBay rules. It's a big world out there with plenty of words for everybody, so I ask all you up-and-coming costume-makers to please refrain from using mine. Violators will be reported to eBay and bad luck will follow you all of your days. You'll likely develop a nasty rash too.
